Matsudo Tomita Menban is the first directly operated Tokyo branch of the famous Chuka Soba Tomita in Matsudo.
Owner Osamu Tomita was deeply inspired by Kazuo Yamagishi, the legendary founder of Higashi-Ikebukuro Taishoken, and trained under Koji Tashiro, one of Yamagishi’s disciples.
That connection to Taishoken is still part of Tomita’s roots, especially in the style of tsukemen and the balance of rich broth and noodles.
Personally, I used to love Taishoken and went there again and again, so when Tomita opened at KITTE Marunouchi, I was ridiculously excited.
For a while, I came here almost obsessively.

▶ What I Tried
Chuka Soba | 中華そば

Most customers here seem to go for the Rich Tsukemen, but personally, I got really hooked on the Chuka Soba.
The soup has a great balance of animal-based richness and seafood umami. It is not heavy, but it is not exactly light either. It is hard to explain, but from the very first sip, it just makes me happy.
If I had one small complaint, the pepper feels a little strong for my taste. Personally, I think it would be even better if the pepper were left on the table so each customer could adjust it themselves.
The noodles are chewy with a satisfying texture, and the seasoning has enough saltiness to keep the flavor strong.
The toppings are also excellent. The chashu is made with pork thigh, which can sometimes have a reputation for being a little dry, but this one is not dry at all. It is tender, well seasoned, and full of flavor.
The menma is also very good.
I wonder how many bowls of Chuka Soba I have eaten in total, starting from Taishoken and continuing through Tomita... probably way too many, lol.
Rich Tsukemen | 濃厚つけめん

The Rich Tsukemen seems to be the most popular choice here, and honestly, I can understand why.
The dipping broth is very thick and concentrated, so it clings extremely well to the thick noodles.Because every bite carries so much of the rich sauce, the noodles become incredibly satisfying and very easy to keep eating.
It is definitely a powerful bowl, but the combination of the thick noodles and rich dipping broth works really well.
Morisoba (Original Tsukemen) | もりそば(元祖つけめん)

Morisoba is the lighter, more classic style of tsukemen.
When I used to visit Taishoken years ago, there was no rich tsukemen like the kind that is common today.
The dipping sauce was much lighter, with a gentle balance of vinegar and sweetness.
That classic style became extremely popular, and this Morisoba follows that same tradition.
Personally, this style is not really my favorite.
But there are still many passionate fans who absolutely love this kind of tsukemen.
Kamadaki Tonkotsu Ramen | 釜炊き豚骨ラーメン

When Matsudo Tomita Menban first opened at KITTE Marunouchi, it was extremely crowded.
Recently, though, my impression is that it is relatively easy to get in smoothly if you avoid the peak lunch hours and weekends.
I also feel that a large proportion of the customers are international visitors.

▶ Final Thoughts
Although Hayashida is a popular ramen shop, it is often relatively easy to get a seat in the evening.
It is conveniently located near the station and stays open during the afternoon, making it a very easy place to visit at almost any time of day.
The menu also includes tsukemen, various toppings, and rice bowls, so there is plenty to choose from depending on your mood.
