Nagaoka Ginger Shoyu Ramen in Tokyo

Aoshima Shokudo is a famous ramen shop from Niigata, known for Nagaoka-style ginger shoyu ramen.

Its Tokyo location sits between Akihabara and Asakusabashi, and the combination of hot soy sauce broth and a strong ginger aroma has made it a popular destination for ramen fans.

It is also known for attracting long lines, even outside the usual lunch rush.

Miso Ramen | 味噌らーめん

Rich miso ramen at Fukuro in Asakusabashi, Tokyo

Personally, I think this is a very good bowl of miso ramen.

The rich miso soup immediately reminded me of Sumire-style ramen, and that makes sense considering the chef’s background.

The flavor is fairly strong and deeply satisfying, with grated ginger adding a sharp, refreshing accent.

It has that addictive combination of richness, heat and saltiness that makes you want to keep drinking the soup.

There is a ticket machine, but after buying your meal ticket, you show it to a staff member near the entrance, even if they are standing a little farther away.

I guess the trick is to hold it up clearly so they can see it easily, lol.
