Hanakiryu Miso specializes in miso-based noodles, with a menu that includes miso ramen, miso tsukemen and mazesoba.

It is a good place to experience several different styles of miso in one restaurant, from rich soup-based bowls to dipping noodles and mixed noodles.

Miso Ramen & Half Fried Rice | 味噌らーめん・半チャーハン

Rich miso ramen at Hanakiryu Miso in Shimbashi, Tokyo

The miso ramen has a rich, full-bodied flavor, with firm, chewy noodles and crisp bean sprouts that add a nice contrast in texture.

It is the kind of warm, satisfying bowl that really hits the spot, especially after drinking.

The half fried rice is also excellent. In fact, I think it is one of the highlights of this restaurant.

Whenever I come here, I usually order the half fried rice as well.

The full-size fried rice is delicious, but since it does not come with soup, I personally find the half portion just right when eating it together with ramen.

Miso Tsukemen & Half Fried Rice | 味噌つけ麺・半チャーハン

Tsukemen with rich miso dipping soup and half fried rice at Hanakiryu Miso in Shimbashi, Tokyo

Personally, I find the tsukemen a little easier to eat than the regular miso ramen.

The noodles have a firm, chewy texture, and dipping them into the rich miso soup lets you control how strong each bite tastes.

Because the noodles and soup are served separately, the overall impression feels a little lighter and easier to enjoy, even though the miso flavor itself is still rich.

And just like with the ramen, I definitely recommend adding the half fried rice.

Hanakiryu Miso is open from early morning until very late at night, making it an extremely convenient option at almost any time of day.

Whether you want ramen after drinking, an early-morning meal, or something late at night, it is a very useful place to remember around Shimbashi.
