Authentic Nagahama-Style Ramen in the Heart of Ginza
Nagahama Yatai Yamachan opened its Ginza shop in 2002 and brings the atmosphere and flavors of Hakata-style street ramen to Tokyo.
The shop is known for its thin noodles and relatively light, easy-to-drink tonkotsu soup, and some ingredients are said to be brought in directly from Hakata.
Located just behind Kabukiza in Higashi-Ginza, it is a convenient place to enjoy classic Nagahama-style ramen without leaving central Tokyo.

▶ What I Tried
Nagahama Ramen | 長浜らーめん

The soup is relatively light for tonkotsu ramen, but it still has plenty of richness and pork umami.
There is very little unpleasant pork smell, making the broth smooth and easy to drink.
Combined with the extra-thin noodles, it goes down very easily and feels like a classic Nagahama-style bowl.
Personally, this is the kind of tonkotsu ramen I could keep eating even late at night.
Mentaiko Rice | 明太子ごはん

This Mentaiko Rice brings back a lot of memories for me.
Years ago, whenever I came here after drinking, I would almost always order it together with the ramen.
My favorite way to eat it was to dip the nori briefly into the ramen soup, then use it to wrap the rice and mentaiko together.
The warm tonkotsu flavor on the nori works surprisingly well with the salty mentaiko and rice.
▶ Final Thoughts
One of Yamachan’s biggest advantages is that it stays open until very late at night.
That makes it especially useful after drinking in Ginza or Higashi-Ginza, when you want one last bowl of ramen before heading home.
A light but flavorful bowl of Nagahama ramen together with Mentaiko Rice makes a very satisfying way to finish the night.
