From a Tiny Nishiazabu Shop to an International Ramen Brand

Rakkan started in Nishiazabu in 2011 as a tiny ramen shop with just four seats.

Since then, the brand has expanded across Japan and overseas, while continuing to focus on Japanese dashi, fermented seasonings, and carefully selected ingredients.

This Nishiazabu location is where the story of Rakkan began.

Shoyu Ramen with Wonton | 醤油ラーメン+ワンタン3個

A bowl of Kohaku shoyu ramen served at Rakkan in Nishiazabu, Tokyo, featuring a clear soy sauce broth with bonito, kombu, and niboshi.

The soup is quite light, with a subtle aroma of bonito and other Japanese dashi ingredients. It has a refined and gentle flavor, making it easy to enjoy even for people who prefer lighter ramen.

Personally, I would have liked a little more intensity and a stronger punch, but the delicate balance is probably part of its appeal.

Rakkan Nishiazabu is a good choice if you prefer light and refined ramen rather than a heavy, powerful bowl.
