Uogashiya Shimbashi Ramen is located just steps from the Ginza Exit of Shimbashi Station and offers both ramen and sushi at reasonable prices.

It is a convenient place where you can enjoy satisfying ramen and fresh sushi without spending too much. Whether you visit mainly for the ramen or more like a sushi restaurant, the quality and value are both surprisingly good.

Ramen|ラーメン

A bowl of shoyu ramen served at Sushi and Ramen Uogashiya in Shimbashi, Tokyo.

The ramen has a light and refined character, but the flavor itself is still surprisingly rich and well defined.

When the bowl is served, a small mesh strainer filled with bonito flakes is placed in the soup. The restaurant recommends removing it after about 10 seconds, as leaving it in too long may bring out some bitterness or harshness from the bonito.

Personally, though, I think it is fine to leave it in a little longer while eating. I am not sure most people would notice such a big difference after only a few extra seconds anyway (lol)

In the end, it probably comes down to personal preference.

Ramen & 5-Piece Premium Sushi Set (Ume)|ラーメンと特上寿司5貫セット(梅)

A ramen and sushi set served at Uogashiya in Shimbashi, Tokyo.

The ramen is excellent, but sushi is just as important to the concept of this restaurant, and the quality is surprisingly high.

The sushi rice is made with red vinegar, although personally, I could not clearly tell a big difference from regular sushi rice. What I could tell, however, was that the fish tasted fresh and was handled well.

Overall, the sushi is very satisfying and makes the ramen-and-sushi combination feel like more than just a novelty.

The sushi selection is not huge, but the sets feature carefully selected, high-quality toppings. There are also a few individual options such as tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin if you want to add something extra.

Another big advantage is the opening hours. Uogashiya stays open late and also opens as early as 7:00 in the morning, making it a useful spot whether you want a late-night meal or a hearty breakfast.

With both ramen and sushi available in one place, it is a convenient restaurant that I would be happy to use again.
